Q: How long does the implementation take?
A: There is no implementation, it is only a simple installation. The GUI and the server component are installed in ca. 1 hour.
Q: How much training do we need?
A: Not very much. Usually we do training as part of the test installation or the implementation. The handling is very easy.
Q: Do you install any software or agents on the SAP systems?
A: No. With Linux/Unix systems we use the already availabe ssh daemon, with Windows we use powershell 2.0, which is available via Windows update. We call this „zero-footprint“.
Q: Does BlueSystemCopy help me with BDLS and if yes, how?
A: Yes, it does! We have prepared a ready-to-use UserExit for BDLS.
All you need to do is to create the variants with which the BDLS should run, i.e. for which logical systems BDLS should
be executed.
After that, BlueSystemCopy starts BDLS immediately as soon as the target system is available again. This means that there
are no wait times at the first stage.
Additionally, BlueSystemCopy optimizes the BDLS runtime (=performance) by creating special secondary indices for the logical system on the database and delete them afterwards. Index creation and dropping runs much faster than the BDLS without this special index and consumes only a small amount of space in the database.
Q: We use a special hardware/software (Storage/data backup/…). Is it supported by BlueSystemCopy ?
A:Yes. If the hardware/software is not alredy supported by default, i.e. NetApp, FlexFrame, TSM, or others, we provide an interfaces – so called UserExits - with which we could integrate any hard- and software up to now.
Q: I found a post-processing step that is not done by BlueSystemCopy.
A: Sorry, we cannot think of everything ;-), but no problem: With our interface UserExits we integrate this step, too. Any action can be at database level, operating system level or SAP level.
Q: Can we test BlueSystemCopy without commitment?
A: Of course! We provide a test installation in your environment. The best time is when you already plan to make a system copy. To make the best of the test one of our specialists will come to you. Please, contact sales for details.
